Joško Markić, MD, PhD

Dr. Markić is paediatric intensivist working at the University Hospital of Split. He is also affiliated with the University of Split School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics. he obtained his MSc (2004), and PhD (2013) from the University of Split. He has participated in more than 50 different courses in Croatia and abroad. Also, he spent several months training in the field of paediatric and neonatal intensive medicine in Austria and the USA. His field of research interest is intensive medicine, inflammation biomarkers and, most recently, the role of vitamin D. As author or co-author he has published more than 40 articles, of which 27 are indexed in the CC/SCI, and 14 book chapters. Dr. Markić has been an active collaborator in several research projects, including the EU HORIZONT 2020 project for popularization of science, and has served as a reviewer for various journals. He is currently a member of the Croatian Medical Chamber Committee for Professional Oversight, president of the Croatian Paediatric Society for the Dalmatian Region and a member of the City Council of Split.
