Neonatal Resuscitation [Article in Croatian]

Abstract


Approximately 1% of newborns require resuscitation at birth. The guidelines apply primarily to new­borns undergoing transition from intrauterine to extrauterine life. The following actions that are worked out in this article is: initial steps on stabilization (clearing the airway, positioning, stimulating), ventilation, chest compressions, and medications or volume expansion. These guidelines are intended not only for neonatologists, but also for all practitioners that would have to assist during deliveries, and to resuscitate neonate at birth.
