Chest pain in children [Article in Croatian]

Vladimir Ahel

Abstract

Chest pain is a common symptom or complaint in children and adolescents coming into the emergency room. There is fear in the patients and family about the known association with myocardial infarction and sudden death in adults. In children cardiac causes are the least likely in association with the presenting chest pain. Generally most causes of chest pain are benign and cause no further sequelae and disappear during 2-3 years of follow up.
